Sunday Snapshot • April 25

Here’s the April 25 election snapshot,  a weekly look at how municipal candidates are distributed across our grand city.

Six new candidates registered this week, in wards 16, 18, 32, 35, 36 & 42 (currently held by Stintz, Giambrone, Bussin, Heaps, Ashton & Cho).

The most interesting addition to the race this week was Frank de Jong, former leader of the Ontario Green Party.  Frank is running in Ward 18, the district vacated by Adam Giambrone.  Frank joins five either candidates including Hema Vyas & Ana BailãoKevin Beaulieu is also expected to enter this growing race.

Here’s a map of the ward numbers, to help you navigate.  (Click on the map to find out which ward you live in.):

  1. Hey Mez, just to correct an error on the map:

Ward 18 has two candidates registered: the incumbent Cesar Palacio and a challenger, Anil Gupta. Palacio registered first, but Gupta has been registered for a while now.

  2. Thanks for the tip!! Not sure how that slipped through our quality control department. haha.

(although, I think you’re referring to ward 17, not 18)

  3. … I’ll fix that for the next Snapshot.

  4. Thank you for correcting my error!

I spotted another error. Ward 2 should be green, not yellow, unless things change the next time you update the map. The maps are great; I just notice these silly little things.

P.S. I’m sorry about being anonymous, but it’s only because I’m going to be running for office somewhere and I’d rather not have my name floating around.

  5. That’s strange. Usually people who are running for office WANT to have their name floating around….

    ; )
