Sunday Snapshot • March 14

Here’s the March 14 election snapshot,  a weekly look at how municipal candidates are distributed across our grand city.

Nine new candidates registered this week.  Biggest news was Michael Walker’s announcement that he wouldn’t be running for re-election, after 28 years in office.  Michael is endorsing his Executive Assistant, Chris Sellors, who filed his nomination papers this week.  Also in the race is school trustee Josh Matlow.

Here’s a map of the ward numbers, to help you navigate.  (Click on the map to find out which ward you live in.):

  1. Councillor Gord Perks’ enviro Street Cred notwithstanding, with 5 declared candidates in Ward 14 Parkdale High Park, no matter how much we all want a ‘green’ city, Ward 14 needs a weee spot of ‘red’.

Thanks for making these snapshots Mez, they’ve become important election milestones as the City’s own web page neglects to easily list date of candidate filings.
